I am Maximus Deridius Meridius... no more.

Russell Crowe people. Former gladiator with a beautiful mind... now the father of a Kryptonian alien who eventually becomes the greatest hero the world has ever known.

That. costume.

Man of Steel has never looked this good until I saw this picture. Agree?

Entertainment Weekly's "The Avengers" Set Photos Featuring Bobblehead ScarJo

We are all excited for the ultimate superhero team up aren't we? Okay. Now, dig on these exclusive set photos from Entertaintment Weekly featuring EVERYBODY.

This looks great, but fuck - what is wrong with Thor's nose (bad photoshopping), Captain America looking awfully confused, ScarJo's bobblehead and Mark Ruffallo with that stare?

First Photo Anne Hathaway As 'Catwoman' In 'The Dark Knight Rises

Everyone is still talking about the first image of Henry Cavill in the Superman costume that was released yesterday, and now people have more to talk about with the release of this exclusive photo of actress Anne Hathaway  mounted on the bad-ass Batpod.

The costume is a little bit different from what we see in the comics, but it doesn't mean that it sucks. It looks awesome, especially with that high-tech goggles. Question is, if this is the final costume?
What do you think?

Exclusive Photo Of Henry Cavill As Superman... In Costume!

Been busy these days so no comic book reviews as of now, but I'll definitely get back to it some time. For now dig yourselves on this photo of the new Superman:

Click for full size image

Right now I've got mixed reactions to the costume, but I really like the foldings on the cape and how long and big it is. Made him a little bit badass. As for the tights, I'm sure that the red underwear is gone for good.

Only issues I have so far is mainly the "S" shield. It looks like the old-school 50s crest used by George Reeves (may God bless his soul), and finally what's up with the hair? No spitcurl? Somebody get this guy a good hairdresser!

Man of Steel is slated for a summer 2013 release and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, and Russell Crowe. Directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen).

"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" Movie Stills

Love it or hate it, Nicholas Cage's head will be set on fire again in 2012 when we comes back as Marvel's Ghost Rider in the sequel to the first GR film that was pretty much hated by many.  I actually liked the first one for some reason even though it was crap storywise and villain-wise (a foggy Blackheart anyone?).

Anyway, Spirit of Vengeance looks like to be a much better one though based on these pictures courtesy of Empire and BleedingCool. Check them out:

That last picture is bad-ass. I wanna see this.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is scheduled for a February 2012 release. Stars Nic Cage, Idris Elba and Christopher Lambert.

"The Avengers" Teaser-For-A-Teaser Clip

I haven't watched Captain America yet, but I'm excited to see it and a high-def version of the blurry post-end credits that was leaked to the net a couple of weeks ago. Now, I'm even more excited to see the movie because of this new 48-second clip that teases... well, Marvel's teaser trailer for the 2012 flick The Avengers.

Remember last week that I said that I won't be looking at some of these spoilers kind of videos, and I'm staying true to my word. I didn't watch the whole thing, but I did see 5 seconds of the clip and I know exactly what it is:

Its Steve Rogers/Captain America running outside Times Square in New York City after waking up from a 50-year "coma" (suspended animation) after being fished out of the Arctic waters encased in a freaking block of ice.

Avengers Assembled: Concept Art Images For "The Avengers" Summer Flick

We have been anxiously waiting for these guys to get together on the silver screen, and while it may take a little bit longer for us to see that, here is the complete roster featuring Nick Fury with Agent Coulson and Maria Hill, Hawkeye, Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Iron Man and Captain America each in their conceptualized art imagery courtesy of Ryan Meinerding.

Question now is, who's going to be the villain?

If Director Josh Whedon would follow the Ultimate's storyline "Superhuman" - it would be interesting to see everybody fight the big bad green monster... the Hulk. Man, that will be awesome. Explosions and chaos everywhere, each of them getting a shot at the ravaging crazy monster, with Thor thumping his ass in the end.

Sounds cool?

Best Scene In "Superman: Returns"... And Its Not Even In The Movie

Yes. There's a deleted scene in the film which should have been included by director Bryan Singer. The scene shows Superman (played by the perfectly casted Brandon Routh) in his Kryptonian ship traveling into the barren-wastelands of his former home - Krypton - filled with radioactive rocks better known as kryptonite: the only known substance that could weaken, hurt and even kill the Man of Steel.

This to me, is the best scene in the film, had it been included by Singer. Imagine seeing this instead of the boring narrative introduction and Krypton blowing all of a sudden. Superman Returns would have been better.

Oh well, at least you can still watch the deleted scene below:

"The Amazing Spider-Man" Official Trailer Is Here!

Watch the new Peter Parker/Spidey crawl onto walls, and jump over skyscrapers. Contains footage of what seems to be another origin story, and some shots of Peter and Gwen Stacy - played by Emma Stone - who looks like a John Romita drawing that came out straight from the comic books.

The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield in the lead role. Scheduled for a 2012 release.

Two Exclusive Photos Of The New Spider-Man Shows Detailed Costume

Andrew Garfield is gracing the cover of Entertainment Weekly rocking the new Spidey costume (via ComicBookMovie):

Few comments: the new suit looks cool with all that design, but it looks kinda dirty all the time don't you think? And everybody is thinking that the costume is made out of basketball leather - or something of that type - and I agree with them.

I like Andrew's skinny physique though, he captures that Ultimate Spidey feel.

And finally, here's an nice close up image (from BleedingCool via Geek Tyrant) that shows the head and chest part of the "dirty" suit:

Looks really cool despite the dark patches.

The Amazing Spider-Man is scheduled to be released on July 3 2012.

Witness The Beginning: Batman: Year One Animated Film Trailer

DVD Box art for Batman: Year One
Finally, the story of how the greatest crime fighter this world came about is going to be told  in an animated feature film by Warner Bros and DC Comics as part of their DC Universe Animated Original Movies that includes titles like:  Green Lantern: First Flight, Justice League: The New Frontier, Batman: Gotham Knight, Superman: Doomsday and the most recent All-Star Superman direct-to-DVD films.

The film is based on the classic 1987 story arc written by Frank Miller with art by David Mazzucchelli that appeared in Batman issues #404-407. Its an origin story, mainly telling the whole origin of how Bruce Wayne became the Caped Crusader starting from the murder of his parents up to his first adventures as Gotham's heroic outlaw.

Batman: Year One is memorable because of its realistic depiction of its characters (notably Jim Gordon) and based on the trailer, it looks like the animation studio decided to keep that element in the film while mimicking Mazzuchelli's old-school art in the process.

I'm sure this film will be awesome. Another wonderful addition to my DC collection. Check out the trailer below.

Batman: Year One has a scheduled release date of October 2011.

The Dark Knight Movie Poster Rises...

Christopher Nolan really has a thing for buildings. Note the posters for his other films, notably Inception and  the 2008's The Dark Knight.

Click on the image below for a full screen view. Its awesome.

And no - that's not a Superman crest on the lower left hand corner of the image. But it would be damn cool if Supes (Henry Cavill) will make a cameo somewhere in the film.

Does New 'Captain America: The First Avenger' TV Spot Include Massive Spoilers?

Our lads from ComicBookMovie has this new commercial for the upcoming Cap film. I didn't watch it in full because I read from the comments that it was a BIG spoiler in a way, but I did see two men walking in ice trying to find something.

Now, for those who have read the Ultimates or any recent Cap book (that tells his origin) for that matter, you definitely know who those two might and what the "ice" means.

Again, VIDEO MIGHT CONTAIN MASSIVE SPOILERS so watch at your own risk.

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America's ideals.

Captain America throws his shield on July 22 in theaters.

The Final 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Trailer

After Green Lantern, I will be back at the cinemas this weekend watching this robots beat the hell out of each other.

But I feel that despite the awesome 3D scenes, it will never be the same because Megan Fox is nowhere to be seen... and instead we get an unknown Victoria's Secret model.

My friend was able to watch the premiere for this film a couple of hours ago for free (lucky gal dammit),  and she said it was just a fine film with a lot of running, huffing-and-puffing, and sweat from Shia LeBeouf.

Wow, I can guess that the film has a nonsense of a plot from that description. Geez.

Movie Review: Green Lantern

 'Green Lantern'
Directed by Martin Campbell
Script by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Mark Guggenheim
Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong,
Angela Bassett, Peter Sarsgaard
Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures
Based on the DC Comics character created by John Broome and Gil Kane

Just came back from the cinemas yesterday watching this first ever GL live-action film, and before I go on to give you of what I thought of the film, let me tell you first that I was pretty discouraged to watch the film because of the overwhelming negative reviews from film critics and fans all over the world.

But I'm glad that didn't succumb to that and still decided to watch the film, because despite what the critics say and the bad stuff that injured the movie - Green Lantern was still definitely a fun film (if you will just let it entertain you).

Not as good as the recent Thor, (the first) Spider-Man, or Iron Man, but it was better than the two Fantastic Four films, and even Spider-Man 3.

The Latest 'Captain America: The First Avenger' Theatrical Trailer & Poster

Yahoo! Movies has just uploaded another version of the upcoming Cap film starring Chris Evans as the star-spangled super soldier. Its pretty much what we've seen from the first trailer and tv spots, but with a couple of other unseen footages.

And they also got a more "patriotic" poster with the actor unmasked.

Make sense to me, selling his good looks.

You know what I think of this trailer?

Its FUCKING BAD-ASS and got me more excited than seeing Thor, but at the same time I believe that it also SPOILS AN AWFUL LOT. Having read a couple of Cap comic books, especially Mark Millar's Ultimates, I am 100% confident that the train and plane scene towards the end of the video is the ending of the film. (Ice anybody?)

A Teaser Trailer For "The Dark Knight Rises"??

Our lads from ComicBookMovie has uploaded this video of what looks to be a teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

Now take note again, that THIS IS NOT YET CONFIRMED to be a legit trailer by DC or Warner Brothers.

But it sure damn looks good... complete with the intriguing captions:

THE STORM... IS COMING... TO GOTHAM...

Russell Crowe Is Jor-El!!!

Variety has reported that that the Academy Award-winning actor is already set to portray Superman's biological father - Jor-El - in the Zack Snyder directed "Man of Steel"  set to fly in 2012 (date yet to be specified).

Jor-El was played by legendary actor Marlon Brando in the 1978 "Superman I" starring Christopher Reeve in the lead role.

Nobody saw this coming. Honestly, I never... ever... did.

I'm not so sure about Crowe taking on this character as much as I love him for his acting chops. Furthermore, this casting further indicates that the movie could have... **wait for it**... another origin story.

And that's another BIG TIME actor hired for this film. Looks like they are really packing in the big guns for DC's mainstream hero, just like what they did for 2008's "The Dark Knight". Hopefully this pays off.

"Man of Steel"  will also star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, Diane Lane as Ma Kent, and Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent.

What do you think of this news? Feel free to vote on the poll and let me know!
