Entertainment Weekly's "The Avengers" Set Photos Featuring Bobblehead ScarJo

We are all excited for the ultimate superhero team up aren't we? Okay. Now, dig on these exclusive set photos from Entertaintment Weekly featuring EVERYBODY.

This looks great, but fuck - what is wrong with Thor's nose (bad photoshopping), Captain America looking awfully confused, ScarJo's bobblehead and Mark Ruffallo with that stare?

Threesome Art - 4th of July Special

Its a special day so we're having  three of the most recognizable superheroes all in their patriotic glory, starting off with the GREATEST flag-inspired character - Captain America:

Captain America by Phil Noto

When you have Phil Noto working on something, its definitely good. His art style never ceases to amaze me with his fine and clean lines with well toned colors. And this shot is a simple, yet gorgeous take on the Star Spangled Avenger. Full patriotism at its finest and another nice hype-image for the upcoming Cap movie.

Superman by Adam Hughes

Hughes is very well known for his sexy pin-up work on comic book heroines, but he can also draw men characters real well. This Superman (his Supes version is one of the best I've seen) is a perfect example of using a flag, a dramatic stare to the sunset and spot-on lighting to achieve a nice patriotic feel. Notice his complete dedication in making his character work stand out, while providing a great tone-setting backdrop.

Wonder Woman by James Lyle (from comicartfans.com)

Having a character draped in a flag is a textbook technique to capture the word "patriotic", and this Wonder Woman rendition is a cool example of that. The spiral stars in the background provide another dimension to this wonderful piece of work. Just imagine the picture less the stars, and this image wouldn't be as good as it is. Just goes to show you of what a well placed background design could do to improve the overall quality of the art.

Does New 'Captain America: The First Avenger' TV Spot Include Massive Spoilers?

Our lads from ComicBookMovie has this new commercial for the upcoming Cap film. I didn't watch it in full because I read from the comments that it was a BIG spoiler in a way, but I did see two men walking in ice trying to find something.

Now, for those who have read the Ultimates or any recent Cap book (that tells his origin) for that matter, you definitely know who those two might and what the "ice" means.

Again, VIDEO MIGHT CONTAIN MASSIVE SPOILERS so watch at your own risk.

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America's ideals.

Captain America throws his shield on July 22 in theaters.

The Latest 'Captain America: The First Avenger' Theatrical Trailer & Poster

Yahoo! Movies has just uploaded another version of the upcoming Cap film starring Chris Evans as the star-spangled super soldier. Its pretty much what we've seen from the first trailer and tv spots, but with a couple of other unseen footages.

And they also got a more "patriotic" poster with the actor unmasked.

Make sense to me, selling his good looks.

You know what I think of this trailer?

Its FUCKING BAD-ASS and got me more excited than seeing Thor, but at the same time I believe that it also SPOILS AN AWFUL LOT. Having read a couple of Cap comic books, especially Mark Millar's Ultimates, I am 100% confident that the train and plane scene towards the end of the video is the ending of the film. (Ice anybody?)

Captain America: First Avenger Collectible Figurine By Hot Toys!!!

Is this unbelievable or what?
With Captain America: The First Avenger hitting the screens soon, its almost automatic for toy mogul Hot Toys to release some teaser images for upcoming collectible toy.

And they didn't disappoint because they did show the stunning images of their 1/6 scale figurine masterfully sculpted to the image of Chris Evans who plays Steve Rogers / Captain America in the film.

This toy has incredible detail just like previous superhero action figures, but this one looks to be the best of them all. Yes, I would say its even better than the Superman and Green Goblin ones that were already beyond description.

Enough of the talk, and check out more of the shield-throwing Cap toy in his full costume and other accessories after the jump.

Nostalgia Bytes: Remembering Captain America's Final Justice

Back when I was addicted to the first Playstation, one of my favorite games was Marvel vs Capcom 2. The game has it all: you can get to build a team of all your favorite super-heroes and characters and pit it against the AI's (artificial intelligence) team or even better, play it against your friend's own and see who is better. Then you can talk trash everytime you win, which was always the best part (admit it).

I always used Captain America in every team that I had mainly because he is such a bad-ass character that has three of the best (arguably) moves in the game. There's the Hyper Charging Star (which is basically Cap charging behind a flaming shield), Stars and Stripes (which is a "Shoryuken"-type shield uppercut) and finally, my favorite super move of all: Final Justice - a move which can sometimes cheat a counter-team combo and the only move that can hurt a familiar Kryptonian. Seriously. Watch.

Remember Action Comics #900? Captain America didn't like that.

In short, Cap doesn't give a fuck. He doesn't play cute and he will kick your butt and ram your head to the floor until it explodes like a grenade. Plus, he always WINS the war for his team in the with the ultimate swag using Final Justice. Iron Man and Thor don't even come close. Here's an example:

                                                  Final Justice FTW!!!

Review: Captain America "Man Out Of Time"

Captain America : Man Out of Time
Written by Mark Waid
Art by Jorge Molina
144 pages
Published by Marvel Comics

With Captain America: The First Avenger hitting the big screens this July, its just normal for Marvel to capitalize on their blockbuster film and gain some good comic book sales by releasing a plethora of stand-alone Cap stories, but only one stands out as probably one of the best superhero novels of 2011.

That my friends is Captain America: Man Out of Time written by Mark Waid with art done by Jorge Molina.

I know what you might be thinking: "Another origin story". And I can't blame you, because a lot of out-of-continuity stories are usually re-telling a particular superhero tale that we already heard a million times before.

But this one is different. Different in a very good way.

'The Avengers 12.1' Preview Covers Doesn't Entice Me At All

Marvel has another  Avengers comic book available on the shelves right now, especially made for newbies who are just starting to delve into the Marvel Universe and unsure on where to start on reading about their all-time favorite characters like Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man and Captain America to name a few.

The Avengers 12.1,  written by one of my favorite Marvel writer-artist tandems in  Brian Michael Bendis and  Bryan Hitch, with the latter being memorable for doing such a splendid job on his run on the Ultimates vol 1 and 2. He's the guy with the "photo-realistic art" that made reading the Ultimates like watching/reading a film. And with the influx of comic book film adaptations lately, this looks like a good move by Marvel in getting new readers joining the bandwagon.

But let me focus on something entirely different here:  I cannot help but wonder what happened to Mr. Hitch while illustrating these covers for his latest project? Take a look:

Alles gute zum Geburtstag, Adolf Hitler!

Yes its his birthday today. Thought greeting him would be cool.

And that's Captain America # 1 (art by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby) my friends. I have to admit, Cap knows how to make an entrance.

New Exclusive 'Captain America The First Avenger' Footage From Entertainment Weekly

Yes, another 'exclusive' footage with some new scenes of the frail/thin/skinny Chris Evans with his head digitally manipulated to fit in some guy's (or might be Dobby) torso. Its horrible. Hopefully it will look better when the movie shows up.

Chris Evans stars in this comic book movie set in the 1940's World War as the army weaking/reject Steve Rogers who volunteers for the  secret Super-Soldier Program and eventually becomes the physical specimen of patriotism - Captain America.  He battles for truth and hopes to deliver some Final Justice on the Nazi invaders led by a sinister villain only known by his code name The Red Skull, played by Hugo Weaving.

Directed by Joe Johnston, Captain America: The First Avenger is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22, 2011.

Captain America Film Trailer Debuts At Super Bowl

Finally after hours of refreshing the Yahoo Movie page, I was finally able to get my eyes on the first ever Captain America: The First Avenger trailer which actually showed up on last day's Super Bowl.

Set in World War II, the movie will star Chris Evans as Steve Rogers who volunteers for the government's super-soldier program after being rejected on his first try at being part of the army. He then becomes the genetically enhanced super human to fight for truth and justice - Captain America.

Chris Evans In Full Captain America Costume!!!

Many thanks again to our friends at ComicBookMovie and a user named CBM for bringing us this exclusive picture showing actor Chris Evans in his full star-spangled Captain America garb!

[Click the image for full size]

Now, this is what I call COSTUME. It looks so awesome, bad-ass, great, cool, amazing... whatever you wanna say. This is just absolutely fantastic!  Whoever designed and made the costume should be nominated for an Oscar. I mean it.

Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans in the lead role and is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2011 in 3D.

Hello Kitty Crossovers To Comic Books and Movies With Joseph Senior's Outrageously Cool Designs

I was never a fan of Hello Kitty, but I have to admit that the character is cute. And it just got to over-the-top level cute after I stumbled to Joseph Senior's (aka yodaflicker) flickr page filled with incredible creative designs, telling us that Hello Kitty could be customized to become the baddest and coolest toy that even the biggest Kitty hater out there would like. He's got a vast collection of these featuring Batman, Iron Man, Hit Girl, Star Wars and many more which I thought were real life custom made toys.

Unfortunately, these are not true customized toys and are merely photoshopped designs, but still, they make for some great ideas in the future.  Maybe Sanrio will do it someday (come on guys, you know you want these). And I have to say, I'm kind of digging Hello Kitty right now as much as I don't want to.

Make sure that you show some love for his work by visiting his flickr account through the links above but for the meantime, check out my favorites after the jump:
