Wolverine gives Cyclops a big "EFF YOU!"

We know what happens after Schism and the Cyclops vs Wolverine throwdown. Two separate X-teams, two different leaders. All of this is going to happen because of a certain redhead chick that has done more for this franchise dead than alive (and yes, it was NEVER about using young mutants as soldiers in issue #4 of Schism).

What's funny about all of this? Is that even before the big event ends, we already know what Wolverine is going to do after all is said and done:

Give Cyclops a BIG middle finger.

How? Check out the preview images for Wolverine and the X-Men #1 after the jump.

Latest Comic Book Reviews (06.23.2011) - Wolverine #11 | Power Girl #25 | Superman #712

I'ma skip the daily news first and give some of my thoughts for comic books I read a couple of hours ago.

Wolverine continues his bloody battle against the Red Right Hand, and my beloved PeeGee teams up with the godddamn Batman against a weather-controlling metahuman, and finally, the Grounded storyline takes a one issue hiatus (mainly because DC decided to scrap the original storyline that features a Muslim superhero in LA), giving way for Kurt Busiek's "lost" Krypto tale, circa 2007 (a.k.a the events after Infinite Crisis).

All my reviews after the cut.

Latest Comic Book Reviews (06.02.2011) - The Walking Dead # 85; Daken: Dark Wolverine 9.1 & Wolverine (vol. 4) #9

Alright time for the occasional comic book review folks.

We got two nice gems from the "House of Ideas" featuring both the adamantium-clawed Wolverine and his son Daken in their own comic book series.

What? Wolverine has a son?

Yes, the guy had sex with tons of women in his lifetime. Chicks dig him. It's his curse.

Cool 2D Illustrations From CGHub Featuring Your Favorite Marvel Characters

Alright guys, more stunning art from great talent at CGHub. Check out the website for a lot of great art that ranges from regular 2D, digital 2D, 3D, and sculptures!

For the meantime, here are some of the finds that I really liked the most while browsing. You'll get to see Wolverine, Thanos, Juggernaut, Spiderman and two awesome Daredevil and X-Men panoramas that you would die to get on your wall! Some made by unknown artists and some made by the pros. But all of them are stunningly bad-ass.

More pictures after the cut.

Made For Primetime TV: The Art of Corey Smith

Its really bad day for me here at work, and after all the B.S today I'm glad I'm still able to find something to be happy about: ART.

ComicsAlliance has this 'Best Art Ever' feature every week - where they showcase some of the most amazing works of art we can ever find on the internet. And I think that's what separates them from other sites, because they just make me drool and appreciate such works.

Today they have this guy Corey Smith from New Zealand who goes by the handle CS-HOWLER on deviantArt - and if you check out this portfolio here, you will find familiar comic book characters drawn like they are ready for a primetime TV slot.

Which brings me to a comparison: I featured Marcio Takara's works before here too which almost has the same style - animated TV style with a more cartoonish feel to it, and i can't help but compare that to the works of of this NewZealander guy.

My verdict? CS-HOWLER wins. Just check out this Batman version of his:

Looks bad-ass? Wait till you see some of my favorites from his portfolio after clicking on the jump. Don't forget to visit his page. (link above)

Learn The Alphabet With Sean Gordon Murphy's Wolverine ABCs

Wanna learn the alphabet comic book style? Look no further because comic book artist extraordinaire Sean Gordon Murphy has just made sure that toddlers would learn how to speak ABCs in the most entertaining and kick-ass of ways with his cool Wolverine Alphabet illustrations, which also features several other comic book characters from the X-Men, Punisher, and Daredevil.

I wish these were used as visual aids when I was in grade school. Damn.
Check out some of my favorites from his deviantArt page right after the jump:

New Anime Wolverine Gets A Mullet [Video]

Wolverine finally got his shot at being a Japanese animated character as Animax aired Marvel's newest anime series featuring our beer-drinking, adamantium-laced Weapon X. After Iron Man had his debut a couple of months ago as an anime (which I thought was pretty good), it was time for one of the X-Men's most popular characters to show that he can bring to the scene.

And as you can see folks, he's got a... mullet. Yes, a damn mullet. He's kind of skinny too and clean-shaved, but I kinda forgave that already because I liked the first episode of his new show. I won't delve in to the details of the story but what I can tell you is that the creators are trying to brew up something interesting for Wolverine in this anime: he is not going to have a "walk in the park" despite the complete absence of other super powered mutants as his enemies and that he's got to learn how to use other weapons asides from his adamantium claws like uhm... a wooden sword.

Watch it right now because for sure somebody's gonna take the video off pretty soon. Part 1 of  the first episode is right after the jump:

Hello Kitty Crossovers To Comic Books and Movies With Joseph Senior's Outrageously Cool Designs

I was never a fan of Hello Kitty, but I have to admit that the character is cute. And it just got to over-the-top level cute after I stumbled to Joseph Senior's (aka yodaflicker) flickr page filled with incredible creative designs, telling us that Hello Kitty could be customized to become the baddest and coolest toy that even the biggest Kitty hater out there would like. He's got a vast collection of these featuring Batman, Iron Man, Hit Girl, Star Wars and many more which I thought were real life custom made toys.

Unfortunately, these are not true customized toys and are merely photoshopped designs, but still, they make for some great ideas in the future.  Maybe Sanrio will do it someday (come on guys, you know you want these). And I have to say, I'm kind of digging Hello Kitty right now as much as I don't want to.

Make sure that you show some love for his work by visiting his flickr account through the links above but for the meantime, check out my favorites after the jump:

Art of Francis Manapul - Wolverine [Video]

Watching artists draw is a pretty sight to watch. Today, we have Filipino-Canadian artist Francis Manapul, who is one of the most exciting comic book artists today and is known for his work on Witchblade, DC's Adventure Comics, and currently The Flash with Geoff Johns. He was ranked #48 on ComicBookResources Top 100 Artists List.

Here he shows us how to draw Wolverine using his patented Ink and Wash technique with inks and paintbrushes. Makes me want to draw like him too, haha.

Thanks to cartoonblock for the vid! Lucky basterd.

Comic Book Review: Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk

 Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk
Issues 6
Published by DC Comics

Its one of those Marvel dream matches that you wanted to see. You know, the big angry green Hulk vs bigbad savage Logan aka Wolverine. One is as strong as he could possibly get when pissed off, and one is good at what he does best (and what he does is not really nice). When you put those two together, you're definitely in for some good 'ol ruckus and violence.

Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk is set in Marvel universe's Ultimate Marvel imprint, where their classic characters are re-introduced to a new generation of comic book readers, especially to those who don't want to read the older stories, origins and all that. Of course, some of the characters are a little bit altered (like their origin stories and physical appearances), but that doesn't make it less fun.

Anyway, story goes as this: Dr. Bruce Banner, the lead scientist who was assigned by the American superspy group code-named S.H.I.E.L.D to re-create the super-soldier serum (the one that made sickly Steve Rogers into a enhanced super-soldier named Captain America in 1945) in order to create more super powered humans, went nuts (mainly because of jealousy) and injected himself of the serum and turned into the rampaging monster The Hulk - killing 800,000 people in New York City including innocent kids - until the newly formed superhero group The Ultimates , apprehended him.
