X Men First Class' Jennifer Lawrence (aka Mystique) Lands The Role of 'Katniss Everdeen' of the 'Hunger Games'

Yes, Hollywood has finally found their own 'Katniss' for the film adaptation of the best-selling young adult novel by Suzanne Collins - and its 20-year old Jennifer Lawrence who landed the role amongst other candidates. Apparently, she also plays the whole of the shape-changing Mystique in the upcoming X-Men: First Class film. Talk about bagging two big roles.

But we're talking about the Hunger Games here. Its  way bigger than her X-Men role, because she gets to play the lead character as 16 year old Katniss Everdeen, who in the book is a strong and confident young archer who is chosen to participate in a death tournament called 'The Hunger Games' - thus the name of the novel. Its one of the biggest novels of 2008 and in the young-adult genre, with more than a million copies in print today all over the world. It is considered to be the hottest franchise in Hollywood right now, next to Twilight.

I have been personally watching out on who's gonna get this role because I'm a big fan of the Hunger Games trilogy myself. I haven't seen Jennifer act out, but let me reserve the judging after I watch X-Men: First Class. Internet articles have said though that she's got some serious acting chops and was nominated for an Academy Award For Best Actress for her role in Winter's Bone. Wow. That's quite a feat for a relative unknown.
