2011 DC Reboot: New Action Comics #1... And New Titles For Superman Family Confirmed

  • Supergirl #1 will be written by Mike Green and Mike Johnson with art by Mahmud Asrar

Supergirl’s got the unpredictable behavior of a teenager, the same powers as Superman and none of his affection for the people of Earth.

Story continues after the jump.

  • Superboy #1 by Scott Lobdell with artists RB Silva and Rob Lean

They thought he was just a failed experiment, grown from a combination of Kryptonian and human DNA. But when the scope of his stunning powers was revealed, he became a deadly weapon.

  • Superman #1 written by George Perez with art by Jesus Merino

What is Superman’s startling new status quo? How does it affect his friends, loved ones and his job at The Daily Planet? Find out in SUPERMAN #1, written by legendary comics creator George Perez (CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, NEW TEEN TITANS and WONDER WOMAN) and illustrated by Jesus Merino.

And finally...

  • Action Comics #1 written by Grant Morrison (All-Star Superman) and Rags Morales (Identity Crisis)

This September, New York Times bestselling writer Grant Morrison (ALL-STAR SUPERMAN) joins with sensational artist Rags Morales to bring you tales of The Man of Tomorrow unlike any you’ve ever read before in ACTION COMICS #1. This momentous first issue will set in motion the history of the DC Universe as Superman defends a world that doesn’t trust their first Super Hero.

I still don't like the new Superman suit and Perez writing Superman #1. George is an ARTIST not a WRITER. That's not his forte, but I wish him the best and hopefully he will not mess it up.

Love Supergirl done by Asrar. I'll be picking that up since there's no Power Girl series as of now.

Superboy #1 is quite interesting too. Looks like Conner and Kara will be both bratty, short-tempered, and a little villainous this time. I'm all for it.

Finally, ACTION COMICS #1. This is absolutely WORTH BUYING. And you know what is exciting with Supes this time in AC?

Grant Freaking Morrison is writing him. I know he is not the greatest writer out there, but since I like his All-Star Superman, I'm confident he will do Supes justice with this new concept they got.: Supes is feared once again by the human race - just like in the 1930s - and he's got to earn everybody's trust and respect. Our respect. Morrison could play on that all year long and deliver. I'm sure of it. But I hope he doesn't make a new origin story for obvious reasons.

And Rags Morales' work is awesome as always. His style is in between old-school and modern contemporary comics, and that makes me all giddy.

I wish September would come faster. Damn.

What do you think of the new super-books? Which one are you going to order? Vote on the poll on the right or comment.
